Trees as Art
Trees as Art
In-PersonLast Revised: Sep 13th, 2024
Event Description
This event will be a presentation of colorful visual highlights of an adventure by Janet James, a Lexington nature photographer. She recently finished a multi-year project of photographing Kentucky’s 120 native tree species including their winter and summer forms, bark, buds, flowers, seed structures and leaves. The images she will share are designed to promote tree knowledge, show how the beauty of trees is worthy of a photographer’s attention, and encourage participants to really “see” trees. Included will be a demonstration of a publicly accessible online resource of Kentucky native tree information and photos as well as a suggested strategy to learn to identify them.
The presentation is suitable for adult nature enthusiasts and those seeking ideas for photographing nature.
