Event Description

We will slow down, explore, and immerse ourselves in the beauty and energy of trees. Forest Bathing provides an opportunity to reflect and be present. The walk will cover relatively little terrain but will last a full two hours. You will be guided on a safe path which provides opportunities to slow down, stop or sit to immerse yourself in the environment. Your guide will offer invitations designed to enhance the experience and at regular intervals during the walk she will gather participants to share and support each other in ways that enhance and deepen the experience of connectedness. Forest Therapy is inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku, which translates to "forest bathing." Studies have demonstrated a wide array of health benefits, especially in the cardiovascular and immune systems and for stabilizing and improving mood and cognition. Forest Therapy builds on those benefits and looks beyond to what happens when people remember that they are a part of nature, not separate from it, and are related to all other beings in fundamental ways.
