Event Description

The 27 Kentucky native trees at the East Grove at Shropshire could use some mulching! Proper care and maintenance is vital to the health and longevity of trees, particularly in an urban environment. Mulching your trees provides protection to the roots, trunk, and helps retain moisture around young roots. These events provide excellent benefits for the trees and are truly loads of fun! Come out on this first Saturday of Tree Week and we'll nurture both trees and community. Visit https://www.trackitforward.com/site/837611/event/861818 for more information. All tools will be provided. Wear closed toe shoes, and work gloves if you have them.

We will meet at the median across from William Wells Brown Elementary School on Shropshire Avenue, between 5th and 6th Streets. Street parking is readily available on adjoining streets, and some spots may be available alongside the median in the traffic circle.
