Plant for the Planet
Parks and Recreation, in cooperation with Friends of the Parks and KU will be hosting a tree planting at the new Dog Park in Veterans Park. We will be planting approximately 100 trees of various sizes and species. This is a great opportunity for volunteers of all ages and experience levels.
Dress appropriately for the weather, bring gloves and a shovel and be ready to dig in! In the case of heavy rain, the event will be moved to the following Saturday, October 21st.
Planting will occur at the dog park. Enter from Southpoint Dr., go past the memorials and take the first right. Follow up the hill past the shelter, take your first left turn and you will see the dog park immediately ahead on the right.
