31st Celebration of Arbor Day at The Arboretum
Join us for the 31st celebration of Arbor Day on Saturday October 22, 2022, at The Arboretum, State Botanical Garden of Kentucky! The day's schedule includes:
8 am - Morning Bird Walk (pre-registration required as space is limited)
9 am – Plant and Seed Exchange (meet in the grass/overflow parking lot next to the paved Arboretum parking lot)
10 am – Proclamation of Arbor Day, and Tree City USA, Tree Campus USA and Tree Healthcare Campus recognition
10:30 am – Kentucky Children’s Garden opens (FREE admission until 5 pm thanks to Presenting Sponsor LG&E/KU FOUNDATION)
11 am – Arbor Day Tree Planting in the Kentucky Children’s Garden
2 pm – Callery Pear workshop and native alternatives walk
5 pm – Kentucky Children’s Garden closes.
Other activities include a UK PPD Arborist group interactive educational display, and UK student groups including the Horticulture, Geology and Herpetology clubs.
This event is kid-friendly and handicap accessible.
Limited parking will be available on-site. We encourage walking, biking and carpooling!
