urban forest initiative tree week 2021 horsing around

Looking for shade trees for pastures or fields, but need them to be safe for horses? Let's look at the varieties of trees that are beautiful, provide shade and are durable in our climate and soil, while not having the toxicity issues that are problematic for horses. This Tree Walk and Talk will take us around the grounds of Springhouse Gardens, a unique Garden Center with 13 acres of mature gardens to see up close which trees could work for you and be safe for your equine friends!

The Tree Walk will start at the Pavilion in the Garden Center of Springhouse Gardens, where Landscape Architect Richard J. Weber will show you specimens of a variety of trees that work well on horse farms, answering questions, and discussing each tree as he leads you through the gardens he has planted over 26 years.

Please contact us through our website www.springhousegardens.com to let us know you are joining us on this Tree Walk.
