Urban Forest Initiative Tree Week 2019 Lavish Art

 

Description

Artist / Transylvania University Professor Zoé Strecker invites and trains volunteers to participate in her artwork, Lavish! by embroidering on images of the natural communities found in the highly biodiverse forests on Pine Mountain in southeastern Kentucky. Embroidery instruction is from 5:00-6:00 pm. From 6:00-8:00pm the group will stitch on the silk Lavish! panels while listening to someone read out loud from David Haskell’s beautiful book, The Forest Unseen.  Handicapped accessible studio. Easy parking. Beginners are as welcome as experienced embroiderers.
