Sustainable Urban Landscape Symposium
Description
The Symposium invites landscapers and the general public for a morning of presentations and an afternoon of urban field trips. Our speakers will address the aesthetics of naturalistic landscape design, the biology of native plant gardening, the rules for transforming a patch of turf grass into a planting area, and mosquito control methods that are safe for garden wildlife. In the afternoon, participants will choose from a list of field trips to established public and private native plant gardens and several stream buffer restoration sites.
The Symposium is sponsored by the Lexington Chapter of Wild Ones Native Plants/Natural Landscapes. Pre-registration is highly recommended: Wild Ones members: $40, non-members: $50. The registration fee includes a small breakfast and a lunch. CEUs for landscape professionals will be announced.
