UK Campus Tree Planting on Arbor Day
Join UK Facilities Management and the Urban Forest Initiative to plant trees on UK Campus during the Lexington Arbor Day Celebration! Bring some work clothes and a willingness to dig-in (there will be dirt) and enhance our campus urban tree canopy. Tools and trees will be provided, bring a pair of work gloves if you wish. Trees will be planted near the UK football practice fields, UK baseball stadium, Greg Page Apartments, and the Arboretum auxiliary parking lot (see map below), meeting location will be the parking lot (yellow star below). This tree planting will take place during the Arboretum's 2021 Arbor Day Celebration, so we encourage tree planters to walk the short distance over to the Arboretum and engage in the larger tree celebrations for the city of Lexington!
Parking in the actual lot will be limited due to the ongoing Arbor Day Celebrations. Planters are encouraged to find parking in the Kroger Field blue lot near the UK football practice fields, or find alternative transportation to the planting site.
