This is my favorite tree on campus because it’s just an odd and unique looking tree. It reminds me a lot of my favorite book as a child, which was the Lorax by Dr. Seuss. This tree reminds me of the “Truffula trees” in the book because of its “smoky” purple foliage. The Truffula trees were all cut down in the book to make other materials because of their aesthetic beauty and their fluffy foliage. I learned at an early age from this book that trees are important and shouldn’t be squandered carelessly no matter how beautiful they may look. This tree brings a sense of nostalgia to me, and I am happy that this tree is in close walking distance from campus.
