 > On UK Campus

After stumbling upon this enormous tree, I was amazed to discover that it was a Ginkgo! I had never realized how mighty a Ginkgo—one of my favorite tree species ever since I was a child—can become and was amazed at how many times I had walked underneath it without truly appreciating all that it has to offer. After researching this tree, I can attest that it serves a unique purpose here at the University of Kentucky. In addition to providing numerous ecological services, this tree helps shape the campus with its beauty, strength, and vibrant personality. The school—and Funkhouser—simply would not be the same without it!
