Narrative
Karrie: This tree is important to me because as a child I grew up surrounded by evergreen trees. I attended a hunters safety course when I was 16 and learned how to identify certain types of trees. While in high school I took two years of forest harvesting and management. I learned how to map harvest areas and harvesting techniques. We also were tasking with replacing the trees we harvested with new ones. I really enjoy evergreen trees, especially blue spruce. Lainey: This tree is important to me because there are a lot of evergreen trees back in massachusetts where i am from. there are a lot more evergreens native to where i live than in lexington so seeing this tree made me feel at home. seeing this rather large tree in a campus full of construction and industrialization makes me believe that UK still cares about its environmental impact.
